Monday, 7 November 2016 13:27 GMT

The second rider is still yet to be confirmed

2016 WorldSSP rider Ayrton Badovini will compete in the 2017 FIM Superbike World Championship on a Kawasaki for the Grillini Racing Team. Badovini won the Superstock 1000 Cup in 2010 and looks forward to the future ahead in WorldSBK with the Italian team.

"I am happy about this new venture,” said Badovini. “After several years with Andrea we’ve created the right conditions in order to build something beautiful together. We put together a good foundation, and we have the same vision for the project. I am sure that we will surprise many."

About the future partnership, Andrea Grillini commented, "For years I tried to bring Badovini to my team. This season has been low in results but the team has worked well and we have a good base to be competitive, especially with a rider like Ayrton."

Badovini raced in WorldSBK from 2011 to 2015 and was often challenging for top ten positions. He will get back in the saddle of a Superbike at his first at Jerez on 21st and 22nd of November. He’ll be joined by his teammate who is still yet to be confirmed.
